It's Okay to Change Your Mind

It's Okay to Change Your Mind

After a year and a half – IT HAPPENED. This is what I’d been working towards and waiting for; I landed a job as a commercial interior designer for a company in Grand Rapids. The first project I’d be working on? Designing the private suites at the Whitecaps Ballpark. You want to know how long it took me to realize it wasn’t the right job for me, and I didn’t want to be a commercial interior designer? Less than one hour.

Heritage Hill - Historic Renovation

Built in 1905, this gorgeous home has maintained it’s original character for over 100 years. When our client decided to remodel the entire master suite, there was no question that we wanted to try to preserve that level of detail while also introducing timeless yet contemporary elements.

Farmhouse Meets Glamour

New construction is such a thrilling process where each day is different, and I truly love and appreciate each step. I love the day drywall gets hung. I love when trim work starts going in. I love when tile gets grouted and when I finally get to see my designs come to life. I'm also the least patient designer that ever lived because I just want it built NOW, and get so excited for it to be done!

It’s that time again! Parade of Homes time!

This year, I worked with Mosaic Properties to design a spec home for their development Balsam Waters in Grand Rapids. This home is 3403 square feet, and listed at $609,900. Designing spec homes is a fun challenge because while you have to design it ‘neutral’ enough that it appeals to lots of different types of families and couples, it also has to be special enough that someone can see themselves making it their home.
